"CURVE YOUR MIND - KIWIANA THAT'S DIFFERENT"
I love kiwifruit, and I'm also a Kiwi. I am a Fruity Kiwi! I am drawn to unusual, twisted things that don't make sense and I have crazy dreams! When I have a conversation with someone it usually turns to laughter, because I love laughing, like that laughter that leaves you crying and with sore cheeks. So there is an opening few lines to expressing my creativity.
I'm Krissy, a 70's kid. Grew up in Rotorua, spent a number of my 20's overseas....and when you are overseas, anything "kiwi" becomes so much more relative and makes you feel that much more proud! Especially when the All Blacks win against Aussie and you're the only kiwis in an Aussie bar!.....or travelling an hour on the tube in London to get to the tiny New Zealand store to pay 8 pounds for a small jar of marmite and lose the plot when someone else uses it!
Back home now though, residing in Wellington with my family of hubby n 2 kids, all those kiwi icons and typical Kiwiana stuff is still cool as (yeah mainly for tourists, I swear I have never bought a plastic Tiki) but living in the everyday NZ life, there is so much more to kiwi living than the icons. There's the drinking culture, the overeating culture, the attitudes of youth today, the hustle and chaos of city living, and the dark side of poverty and criminal activity leaving our dairy owners in fear, and so much more...
Fruity Kiwi Designs reflects a mixture of Kiwiana and kiwi living, and hopefully not too offensive for some.
